I have a 2005 L3400 and have had a problem with extremely jerky movement when lifting the 3 pt hitch. Was not a problem, just an annoyance with my rotary mower since the lift was only a couple of feet. Now I need to install many posts with my post hole digger and it is a BIG problem. 12 inch Auger jumps a foot instantly when only slightly touching the hydraulic lift lever. Auger swings uncontrollably. Dealer says that it came with too small of a valve and has fixed the problem with a new, larger valve. Kubota will not cover it under warranty ($375)because the jerky valve would at least raise the 3 point and that the L3400 is a "Low-End Tractor"
The salesman forgot to tell me I was buying a "Low-End" Tractor, I guess. Has anyone else had this problem or any thoughts as to how to deal with this warantee claim?

Art,
Thats what I understand. The warrantee is supposed to be good for 2 years. But Kubota service rep is saying that I have a low-end tractor and they will not cover replacing a valve that allows a post hole digger to be raised without severe jerking. The Low-end tractor was supposed to work that way by intent or design. ....

That's a low end answer! Probably from someone trying not to do their job. The L-3400 is built using many parts and designs that they used in the past. Much of the Kubota line up of offering is ahead of the market so as they phase some models out they become the standard tractors of tommorow.
It is covered!!!! Now I get to see and hear about low end dealers! The tractor if within the two years should be covered other then by abuse. ....

Thanks to all who helped me with this problem. After talking with the owner of the dealer, emailing him posts from this and other discussion boards about the L3400 valve problem, the fix was completed and will be covered under warranty as it should have been all along. I doubt if it would have gone that way without the information from this board and the kind help given to me by the members. In my opinion, the jury is still out on the custom service provided by my dealership. It appears that the dealer's service manager was trying to make as much money as possible for the dealership and Kubota at the customer's expense. The cost to me would have been an extra $700+ for an item that clearly should have been covered under warranty. I am very gratefull for all of your help. Best Regards, Mike Bleill ....

Any employee that attempts to make money for the dealership by short changing the customer is a BIG liability and should be put in charge of restroom cleaning. ....
